Ophthalmic sympathomimetic; relatively selective alpha2-adrenergic agonist related to clonidine; used to control/prevent postsurgical IOP elevation; also used as a short-term adjunctive agent to reduce IOP in glaucoma patients receiving maximally tolerated medical therapy.

6 drops/day of the 0.5% ophthalmic solution instilled into the affected eye(s).
Elderly
6 drops/day of the 0.5% ophthalmic solution instilled into the affected eye(s).
