Product Description
Xidorin 2.5 mg is a prescription drug for certain patients that have low blood pressure when in a standing position. The condition is medically termed idiopathic postural hypotension. It is effective in people whose living activities are severely impaired even after other treatments are used. Midodrine hydrochloride is the active ingredient in the medicine, which increases blood pressure by causing blood vessels to tighten. It slightly decreases cardiac output and kidney blood flow.
How To Use
Treatment with Xidorin should be started under medical supervision so your blood pressure can be monitored carefully. The initial recommended dose is 2.5 mg thrice daily or as directed by your doctor. The medicine should be taken during daytime hours. Xidorin should not be taken after the evening meal or less than four hours before bedtime. If you have any doubt regarding the usage of the medicine, please talk to your doctor.
Precautions
Xidorin 2.5 mg should not be used without first consulting your doctor if you develop any of the following applies to you:
— Have kidney disease
— Have severe heart disease
— Have urinary difficulties
— Ave overactive thyroid gland
— Have an adrenal gland tumour that causes excessive production of hormones that regulate blood pressure.
— Are allergic to midodrine hydrochloride or any other ingredients of the medicine
Using Xidorin can cause a significant increase in blood pressure experienced when lying down.
Before you use Midodrine, talk to your doctor if you have:
— High blood pressure
— Urinary difficulties
— Irregular heartbeat
— History of visual problems
— Low blood pressure
— Diabetic
— Pregnancy or breastfeeding
— Taking any medication
Drugs that may interact with Midodrine include digoxin, ephedrine, phenylephrine, prazosin, doxazosin, labetalol, pseudoephedrine, doxazosin, and steroids that cause salt retention.
Side Effects
The most common side effects of Xidorin 2.5 mg are high blood pressure experienced when sitting or lying down, itching or tingling of the skin, mainly of the scalp, chills, goose bumps, abnormal loss of strength, dizziness, urinary problems, hair disease, nausea, shortness of breath, rash, pain, nervousness, headache, rash.
